The Interior Design Office was a remodel of an old three story storage unit. The idea was to design the facility with an apartment on one floor and the business seperate. The ID office was to incorporate our own ideas from the inside and out, and prospectively be "our own" firm. I chose to add an additional floor to allow for the apartment to be located on the first floor. I chose this so the tenant, whether it was myself or someone else, would not interfere with the business aspect of the building. The other three floors contained the business side. A deck was added on the top three floors to allow for relaxation and an additional fire escape, besides the interior stairs. A ramp was also added to allow for accesibility to the second floor for clients. The overall design was incorporated around movement. A wave-shaped glass fixture stood outside the front of the building, and the same wave was incorporated throughout the four floors with glass walls. The overall color scheme used energetic colors to promote energy with white furniture for a crisp, clean, organized feeling. Autocad, 3D Studio Max, and Photoshop were used in this project. | | |
